A Trip of a Lifetime

As long as I can remember i have always had a dream of reaching Everest Base camp.

We flew from Seattle, WA USA to Beijing China where we hopped on the train to Lhasa and then from Lhasa we made our way to Everest Base camp via Toyota Land cruiser. After seeing Everest up close and personal we made or way to Kathmandu, Nepal. After a few days of pampering we flew home to Seattle.

Beijing to Lhasa via train

The main purpose in developing this web site is to give some insight into this amazing train ride and provide an outlet for my biased political beliefs. In other words get the non-Chinese propaganda version of this Train.

Some 960 kilometers (560 Miles) of its tracks are located 4,000 meters (13,000 Feet) above sea level and the highest point is 5,072 meters (16,640 Feet), at least 200 meters (650 Feet) higher than the Peruvian railway in the Andes, which was formerly the world's most elevated track.
